Steel Essence (and arguably more importantly, arcanes) are not affected by warframe drop boosting abilities so you don't need a loot frame to solo this farm. Your main goal is to find a mission you can continue without having the possibility of automatically failing by not tending to the objective. If they don't affect Vitus drop chance though then torroids are the only thing worth worth using a resource drop chance booster for. But that's hardly worth spending plat on especially compared to the other boosters. But if it does work on vitus drop chances then that vastly improves an otherwise stupid booster.

Nope. But I still run Nekros for farming for health drops in survival. Nekros creates extra drops from corpses. Acolytes do not die, and therefore do not leave a corpse that Nekros can desecrate. For the same reason, on-kill loot abilities don't work, because the Acolytes don't die. Doesn't do anything to steel essence...
